Oh... I thought it was the line for the iPhone6. Its great that we had a march and everything, but where do you think this happened... a country that really gives a damn?!? Most of the Americans I know (and that would be Americans who are generally more aware of the problem and the solution than most) just look at something like this and say, Wow! Great! Now that weve fixed Climate Change I can get back to my shopping and tv watching! Glad it was over in time for me to watch the NFL! The dont look at this as a call to action. They look at this as I saw something on tv, so it must be taken care of. I attended a rally in my little town and the turnout was better than I thought it would be. I expected a couple dozen and there were more than 100. We made a pretty impressive showing at the big intersection in town, but my good feelings were immediately crushed. Here were other neighbors streaming by in their CARS... honking their support... for a Climate Change rally! This is America, people!!! The land where most Americans are so stupid, apathetic and oblivious that they think we can CONSUME our way to Sustainability with Status Symbols like Priusi, Teslas and Leafs, not understanding at all that those cars are just as damaging to the environment as a regular car. Its just like changing cigarette brands to avoid cancer. We dont have it in us as a Society to do what it takes! MASSIVE public transportation and the abandonment of driving around individual cars to our hearts content is just the first in a long line of steps that American simply will not take. We dont even have the capacity to THINK about them... much less act on them! Just keep driving, folks! Your kids will figure out what to do about Climate Change.
