Oh LAWD! For those of you much wiser than I, please help me understand what Ive done wrong in my presentation at last nights council meeting. Citizens in my district have been after for months to allocate funds for speed calming devices ($3500 is the installed by the City of Irondale Public Works). It the midst of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest it ruffled my feathers when the speed calming devices for the sake of safety was voted down by Councilors who evidently have no respect for all citizens of Irondale - equally. District 2 put me into office with 58% of the vote in 2012 to BE their representative. But because they were not all present at the council meeting, the other councilors ( Craig Sanderson, Terry Bearden and Pastor John London) could not support it. Even though District 1 (Pastor London) now has 3 concrete bollards at Beacon Park for childrens safety (which I FULLY supported - it was the RIGHT thing to do with taxpayers money). And, I also fully supported 2 water fountains for Beacon Park - it was also the RIGHT thing to do. Those two projects total a little over $10K. Good for District 1 and all of Irondale to enjoy. You can check my record, this old school bus driver has also fully supported any initiative that enhances the quality of life for our citizens.
