Oh My Goodness. Here is the link to the new proposed architectural renderings for St Josephs Square. It looks Gawd awful cheap compared to the original proposal. For further info check out case 19646. And our beautiful stain glass windows will no longer be along Gottingen St; but rather, on Kaye St along with the property Name and historic dedication plaque. halifax.ca/planning/applications/documents/19646Renderings.pdf No public consultation meeting is required for HRM city council to vote on these material changes. Be informed and send letters to Jennifer Watts- if you thnk it will actually help. This was posted on the HRM City Planning website one week ago: The proposal involves changes to a proposed mixed-use development for the site which is to include multi-unit residential and ground-floor commercial uses. The proposed changes would be administered through non-substantive amendments to an existing development agreement which was approved on January 9, 2012. The purpose of the amendments is to allow for changes to the landscaping requirements, an increase in dwelling units from 83 to 105, and minor changes to the exterior architectural appearance of the building, including materials, architectural treatments and fenestration pattern. The proposal does NOT involve any changes to overall allowable building height/ size or the allowable population density for the development (by reducing unit sizes). Status The application is currently being reviewed by staff. Next steps in the process include the preparation of a staff report and a decision by the Halifax and West Community Council. There is no requirement for a public hearing for non-substantive amendments to a development agreement. However, such decision of Community Council is subject to appeal to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, pursuant to the appeal provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.
