Oh, Pluto, we neer knew ye. But now we will. On July 14th, the Horizon robocraft will make its closet approach to the dwarf planet (once considered a real planet, but not relegated to being just another Kuiper object, but we now know it has 4 satellites (formerly we just thought it had one). 3 of the are likely in same classification has Mars 2 Satellite- captured asteroids, bit accreted moons that our Moon started out as, after a dwarf planet about Mars size, slammed into the very young Earth, losing much of its heavier mass to Earth, with remainder along with a good hunk of Proto-Earth crust accreting into what we have today. Ill be fascinating to see if any Plutos moons started that way or are merely captured Kuiper objects. The real fun is yet to come.
