Oh how things have changed in the Christian church today, and sadly many Christians think that the changes are for the better - but their dreamers, worldlings, carnal and fashionable! Can you imagine 250 years ago, when Jonathan Edwards classic sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, was preached! Yes folks that was a sermon that once was world renown. Edwards was one of the founders of Princeton University, one of the great six in the Western world and a great man of God, who often spent 17 hours in prayer in preparation for a sermon, before he preached. Would too God we had some like that in our pulpits today! Now can you imagine that sermon of Edwards being preached in the pulpit of your church today! Of course you could not, even in your wildest imagination! And then they tell us that things are getting better in the church - wake up Christian church and bring back the Edwards and his kind, and we will have a better church today, with holy and righteous people that honor and glorify God! Yes it is true that we have better churches, better sanctuaries, more comfortable pews, air-conditioning and better trimmings; but only revival will bring holy and righteous people back to God. People that honor God, living in revival times in the here and now; as it was then when we had God fearing preachers like Edwards in our pulpits! - Dr. Duane Steeves
