Oh look whos turned up in the Scottish creationism-in-education - TopicsExpress

Oh look whos turned up in the Scottish creationism-in-education affair. David Robertson is quoted extensively in this article, revealing a humongous pile of projection: Since when was science determined by MSPs? Once we have politicians telling science teachers what to teach, on the advice of one particular faith belief, then we are in real trouble. Not that anyone from the Free Church of Scotland would ever dream of allowing politicians to tell science teachers what to teach, on the advice of one particular faith belief — say, the belief of the Free Church of Scotland... But I suppose this shouldnt be surprising. David Robertson, like many religionists, doesnt (or refuses to) understand what secularism is. Secularism (I post this definition from the NSS yet again) is a principle that involves two basic propositions. The first is the strict separation of the state from religious institutions. The second is that people of different religions and beliefs are equal before the law. This issue is very simple. Creationism (along with its tarted-up offspring Intelligent Design) is not science. It doesnt belong in science lessons.
