Oh man, this is sweet! The first fleet of UN drones is supposed to be deployed next month to monitor rebel activity on the borders of DR Congo. They will be surveilling (is that a word?) the rebel group M23, who appear to be mysteriously acquiring soldiers and guns at an alarming rate. It’s interesting, because of the debate around drones and the possibilities of drones being used for UN missions, and also because of the potential for insight into rebel activity in eastern Congo.
