Oh my God. Thank You Soo much Lord for giving us an amazing Merry Christmas early gift today with a very very important 2:1 home win versus Borussia Dortmund. This win feels soo good because it keeps us alive in the fight of staying in the first division for the second half of the season. We are still under the last three places in the standing, but we have found the connection to all the other teams, having as many points as us, one point more or two points more. The first half of the season was soo hard for us. We had the worst start in our club history under coach Robin Dutt (only four points after nine games). Then we got a new coach, Viktor Skripnik and Torsten Frings old Werder Bremen ex players who wanted to help us out. After our only win in road games of the first half of the season in Mainz (2:1), we continued to struggle under Skripnik on the road too. But at home we were very strong and under Skripnik we got in four games 10 points of ouf possible 12 to close and tie the gap to the other teams at the half way mark of this season. Even though we got stronger under Viktor Skripnik, we were before the game versus Dortmund at home in big danger of having to stay at the last position during the winter break and losing the contact to the other teams. It did not happen because we got off to a very fast start versus Dortmund when Davie Selke put us ahead in the third minute already 1:0. Dortmund with almost no opportunities in the first half while Lorenzen had two big ones for us. Dortmund put more pressure on us in the second half, however our first opportunity in the second half we took advantage of to take a 2:0 lead. Fin Bartels scores after a beautiful pass from Davie Selke. Then Davie Selke should have scored the 3:0 but he missed the Dortmund goal. All of a sudden one minute later (69 minute) Dortmund scored through Hummels to cut our lead to only 2:1 and the last twenty minutes became like hell with a lot of suffering and fear that we might lose the lead completely. We allowed Dortmund though only two opportunities to tie the game up, Kagawa shoot the ball over the goal and Ginters header was saved from our goal keeper Raphael Wolf. We had also opportunities through Bartels who hit the post, through Selke whose shoot was saved by Dortmund goal keeper, and through our Captain Clemens Fritz who shoot the ball over the goal. When the game was over a big relieve and happiness set in. Now we have a one month winter break until the second half of this season starts. We are on the right track under Viktor Skripnik and Torsten Frings but we still have a long and difficult road to go until the safety in the first division. If we fight and play like today we will survive. I always believe in us even in the most difficult times when things look bad despite sad moments. Always when you fall, get up strong and fight back. Keep Always going no matter what. Merry Green And White Christmas and Forever Green And White!!!
