Oh! my dear Jonathan! In as much, Gej administration has not performed so fantastic as one would have expected,I believe,he deserves some credit. He has tried to lay solid foundation to institutionalize democracy in Nigeria as practiced in civilized climes, little did he knew, he is jabbing himself to a corner. Gej, perhaps, did not give it a thought that, Nigerians, dont give preference to intangible achievements which are also tents of democracy. These believe, In my opinion is premise on comments awash on social media, on how this president has performed so badly and must be led to the slaughter, In as much as everyone is entilted to their opinion, it should be seen to be moderated & aired with some level of civility& fairness. A cursory watch over the last couple of months, Opinions expressed by Folks has been divergent as if they were grounded politicians. Believe it or not, the sudden awareness of every1 about politics is the Gej factor, which is a plus to him and should be applauded, one may ask how? for those of us who has forgotten history so soon,it was a concerted effort to open the political space/consolidate internal democrary achievement, based on the latter, I had earlier refer to as intangible and the reason Gej has blow himself to a corner, if not for the non -interference of fedgovt, the negative, malicious, discerning comments would have been non-existence; i, Do you know this party, Apc has earlier submitted application twice during previous administration and never saw the light of day, thwarted with instrumentality of govt, haven considered the implication as it is currrently having ii, We knew, who heads inec prior to 2007, what he did, that only one party was consistently winning election & doing the bidding of his paymaster iii, We also havent forgotten the high profile killings of prominent Nigeria preceeding the 2003 election in order to win at all cost iv, We knew, how discerning voices from ex-governors in previous administration, how they were dealt with and upstaged v, We have seen how people from all strata have freely expressed their opinions against the govt of the day without been victimized or hounded by corruption agencies as we are used to. I could go on & on Dont get me wrong, am not trying to cast aspersions on previous administration, at least for comparism, democracy goes beyond things we could feel or see, its good, but goes beyond that. If an ex-president could use his office to skew process to favour him, Certainly, Gej could, but choose not to in order to institutionalise democracy. In fairness, its an achievement, which our democracy need Besides, if the table happens to turn, have we considered the monumental loss on taxpayers? the revision to status quo of several policies and programme already on the pipeline, the impending abuse of state police, the minority, at least,should do two tenures, what is good for the goose is good for the gander, as we opine on the recent political eldorado, let cogitate on the above. Lets come to think of it, do any SINGLE individual has the magic wand to wave at the country and everything will be in place within four(4)years? Kai ! I wish Nigeria well !!!
