Oh my gee willy wongo!! Man I tell you Bob Segers Hollywood Nights has got the blood pumping out of my ears. What a track. If your driving with this honey oozing from your speakers you run the risk of a speeding ticket ,its a track that speeds everything up in your life. In fact the keyboard player on this tune is a man called Bill Payne, probably best known for being the Keyboard man in the superb Little Feat. Well Bill was driving home in the U.S of A listening to the rough mix of Hollywood Nights after his session playing keys on it and he found himself well and truly over the speed limit, well and truly on the wrong side of the hard hitting american traffic cops. But I can see how it happened, its just such an energy filled track that you loose yourself in it . A great story too. I can clearly see the girl with the soft innocent blue eyes. I can see her looking so right in her diamonds and frills. I can see the midwestern boy who felt too far from home. I can hear the waves tumbling over the sand. I can see the big city lights. And I can see the twisting roads all leading up into those Hollywood Hills. Yeah man yeah people.
