Oh my goodness!!! After going to a restaurant yesterday and someone asking my child for the umpteenth time, did Santa come see you? I seriously lost sleep last night thinking of doing a blog and this is exactly what I was going to put in it. When I see children with Santa, or hear people talk about him to the girls, I dont judge the person, (so please dont get that vibe). Santa is just the norm in todays society and I understand that. I dont think any less of a person who teaches their child of him, but mine and Chans personal conviction is to not teach our children. Every family is different and different convictions and I respect that. Just like the mom who wrote the blog, I cant tell my child theres someone who watches, judges their actions daily, and determines their worth (in gifts) and blesses (gives gifts) how he chooses, unless Im teaching my children about God. I dont ever want my children confused and more focused on pleasing a person whos not real, than the Creator of the universe and giver of their life! I dont ever want to distract them from living for Jesus! I dont ever want to give them an excuse when their 12,13,14 and Im teaching them dangers of certain sins, that they say yeah but you also told me Santa Claus was real too!.. I know I have my share of failures as a parent, but making them live for anyone other than Jesus isnt something Im comfortable doing. Loved how she so beautifully worded this! Ps. I was never taught of Santa Claus growing up and I dont feel like I missed out. Personally, it made me trust my parents even more! Ive never known of anyone to be scarred for life for NOT being taught he was real, and Ive never known anyone scarred for life who WAS taught he was real. Like I said, just a personal conviction. I want my girls believing in God, asking God, and trusting God with their life, and realizing Hes the only giver and only one who determines their worth, enough that He died for them! Chandan Bangar
