Oh my goodness Po-Hi classmates of 1963! We had an amazing turnout, I think the largest turnout ever. Some classmates returned that only attended one reunion previously or never attended at all and of course, those that havent missed any, like me! I am feeling a special high right now as well as a low. Actually, Im feeling relatively sad at the moment, but it will pass and I believe everyone had a wonderful time. Our classmates truly and genuinely enjoyed visiting with classmates they never really knew in school as well as reuniting with best ole buddies. It was awesome in so many ways, even though I wasnt able to hug everyone I wanted or visit with you personally due to being busy here and there. Funny or maybe not, I cry every time I see the Church Twins and I have no idea why, but they have never been offended. Instead they just console me by saying ohhhhh and then we hug a lot! Those of you that didnt make it, for whatever reasons, your names were mentioned from other classmates that wondered about you, if we couldnt locate you or you couldnt make the trip for personal reasons, you were thought of nonetheless. One new event Sunday morning (today) was reading the names of our lost classmates with Bob Ludwig assisting me, and of course, he honorably read our classmate and his late wifes name. We then released balloons in their memory, sadly, but they will never be forgotten, not ever! Saturday evening Donald Crisp read a personal poem that he had written about being in Viet Nam and being a veteran. It was an amazing and personal experience he shared, yet sad to those of us that have never served and to those in our classmate audience that had served. It was an honor to me and others to have veterans in our class. I could go on and on with details, but it couldnt really describe the enjoyment all of us shared making new friends amongst our classmates and reuniting with old friends. I believe our class reunions are like family reunions since we all grew up together in one way or another and the catching up of our lives in the last 50 years sharing stories, challenges, careers, kids, grand kids, and great, great grand kids (for some) just cant be ignored for the value of friendship and closeness we all felt and shared. Thanks to ALL of you that participated on our Committee (all volunteers), especially to Paula (now retiring) being our backbone for nine (9) reunions in 50 years and mostly to those of you that attended. We could not have been this successful without your physical participation/attendance and/or the financial support from those that were unable to attend, but still supported us. Love to all and I miss you already...
