Oh my goodness! We are FINALLY home! What was supposed to be a simple, quick trip to move Secret to our barn turned into an all night excursion! We left at 6 this evening to run and get the old trailer from the farm, go pick up Secret from Missys and take her back to the farm. Shouldve been maybe an hour tops. Tires were low on air, filled them up and made it to Missys. She commented on how low they were again. On our way back, I mentioned that we may need to stop and get more air, no sooner had I said it, it blew. Pulled off and had Missy and Charlie come bring a trailer jack and air compressor since the spare was low too. Spare wouldnt hold air, used everything in it, so went after fix a flat, wouldnt hold that either. Two cans later and another bigger air compressor someone brought down from their house to help us, and it stayed up long enough to make it from 705 to 460 before it was completely flat again. Finally gave way and blew on Liberty Road. We went ahead and drove it on to the barn bc we didnt have a choice! 4 hours later, Secret is in the barn and theres two blown tires (and 2 virtually flat as well that wont hold air). Geez, Ive never been so happy to be home! Thanks so much to Charles Pennington and Missy Stephens-Pennington for staying with us and helping us out so much, Jamie and Daphnie Stephens for running for us, all of the random people who stopped and offered to help (and the guy that brought the air compressor), and of course my dad who came to our rescue and got us home! So thankful we have great family and friends willing to help, and live in a town where people still stop and offer whatever assistance they can. What an adventure!
