Oh my goodness have we had a night :( Toby is now on high flow oxygen and in the CTICU. He fell asleep a few hours ago and started dropping his saturations drastically within an hour he dropped down into the 50s and had to be bagged back up. It is all because his airway is collapsing at times. Even with the high flow he has dropped like that and we were about to put a breathing tube in when he woke up and was able to breathe better. So he is now on high flow oxygen and be monitored extremely close. We shouldnt run into any more trouble until he falls asleep but when that happens things are likely to get bad again. Please say a prayer that he can get through this without needing a breathing tube. :(
