Oh my hairy word, the most exciting thing happened here this morning – I’ll tell you in a minute but first I am delighted to tell you that Alfie is definitely getting better :-) He slept up in our bed last night and this morning he was able to jump down without crying – Mum is still giving him medicine but he hasn’t been sick again with it. He and Mum asked me to thank all of you who sent him messages of support …… he said he thought his tail was never going to point upwards again …. It was down for so long we were worried his curl was going to fall out of it ……… that would’ve been a disaster! Anyway, wait till you hear ………… this morning a fecking great big van arrived at our house and a man carried bags and bags of food out of it and brought them into our house for us!!!! There was chicken, cream with cake, bacon, chicken and loads and loads of other stuff. We were so shocked we could hardly even bark ……. It was like a flipping Asda on wheels! Can you believe it – this man drives around all day bringing dogs chicken and lots of other lovely stuff! Bless his unhairy heart :-) I was literally beside myself with excitement and, when that happens, I have difficulty walking let along running so I must have looked like a mad dog with the rabies because when he bent down to stroke me he gave me such a weird look which definitely said ‘are you a mad dog with the rabies?’ Anyway, I didn’t care – this man is a genuine angel ……….. I really hope he comes back tomorrow. Mum told me not to hold my breath because he won’t be back until next week but I’m not sure how she can be so certain about that – we are going to watch out for him tomorrow anyway! I think mum and dad must still be a bit not right in the head though because they didn’t get anywhere near as excited as us – in fact, if you don’t mind me saying, we felt they were a tiny bit ungrateful. I mean, here was this lovely man bringing in bags of free chicken and lovely stuff and all they said was ‘thanks very much’…… not so much as a hug ….. never mind a wee kiss for him!! Lucy did her best to make up for their lack of gratitude by giving him great big licks every time he bent down to set down the bags – we think he really appreciated this :-) Now we are nothing if not very caring creatures and we do understand that Mum is still worried about her friends mum and dad has the fake depression but we will have to have a chat with them later about their behaviour …….. ahh dear, human beans – if I live to 17 I will never understand you :-) xxx
