Oh my word...ok, so I just have to keep it real for a second or minute(s). How in the WORLD are two intelligent (ok, Lee counts as two), grown persons, suppose to find a house, in a SHORT time, AFTER they have worked in a shanty town for the past 5 years?!?! Yall this aint workin. Somebody PLEASE call HGTV or home hunters and this my friends would be the biggest challenge of their career. Let me just give you a glimpse into what we would like.....: -A house. -Preferably 4 bedrooms since we already have Peruvian friends planning a visit and one Peruvian friend that might come live with us -Did I mention we have 4 kids? -We would like a low to medium income neighborhood (preferably towards the low) -We want an area that people are outside a lot and our kids can be outside and not get shot -We would like it to potentially become a rental at some point -We would love to live in an area that reminds us of a little corner of Mexico (little carnecerias and bodegas/stores) -We would like a big yard -We would like an open living/kitchen area -We dont want to live too far from my parents (Helotes) but not too far for Lee to get on 35 for his job (opposite side of helotes) -We want a dual language school for our kids AND one that has space for them -Our budget.... Our range is pretty low (Ill save my husband a heart attack by not posting it) And thats even if we can get the loan (we are finding out that good credit means nothing these days, they want your firstborn) Summary-big house, big yard, cheap, low-medium income, good school, dual language, 20-35 radius from my parents= impossible The hardest part though is HOW do you leave a house and complain or say its just not right when you have SEEN how thousands of people are living?!?! Shack being a big word for their homes! Then you also struggle with the fact that you dont want to spend money on something you dont like and also if its so conservatively small, then how do we do what we love most and invite people into your home?!?! Im just venting here people because well....I have to. Its either this or blue bell or wine and neither would be good for me right now. I know we should rent but there are lots of reasons why thats not the best option for us right now. Also THESE KIDS NEED TO GET IN SCHOOL!!!! If anyone has any creative advice they would like to share...feel free. Im taking all advice. It has officially been solicited.
