Oh oh. How very disappointing. I was following a discussion in a tiny house group today (because I LOVE the tiny house movement!), and it seems that bus/RV owners are NOT considered part of that movement, even though a lot of tiny houses are built on wheels and are movable (and moved quite a lot!) I can see the difference between the two groups, but the elitist attitude really threw me. Some of the comments were in reference to building tiny houses from the ground up...the *financial* implication of building a tiny house in brand new condition, whereas people who renovate buses arent income-solid enough to have a brand new tiny house?? Now, before I got too ruffled and start wishing terrible things on people :P , I needed to just walk away. But my biggest concern is, our economy has, over the last several years, trashed a lot of peoples dreams of home-ownership. Going TINY is an answer for lots and lots of people whod otherwise never be able to call a place their own. So...does it really matter how that house is constructed, what shape it takes, whether it has wheels underneath it, or ...whether its brand-spanking-new...or was once used to shuttle children to school and back in Arkansas, U.S.A. in the 1970s?? Im a little bit miffed with this whole thing. :/ Maybe I should just stick close to my bus friends and let these new age tiny-housers fight it out amongst themselves.
