Oh, since Im here... I guess I should say this. My debut mixtape isnt called Soundtrack To My Life anymore. The new name of it is called Black Phoenix. Ive gone back and reworked some songs, scrapped some and added new stuff to it. The project is called Black Phoenix because one, Im black and Im proud to be of Jamaican and Vincentian heritage... and two, its symbolic of how every single time things have gotten dark for me and things became hopeless, somehow I end up rising out of it burning hotter than ever. Its a way of me saying sometimes you can use the darkness to create something bright. Im still making it sound cinematic and itll all play out like a movie, but its also thoughts, concepts, beliefs and ideas that run through my mind. Im really working my ass off in terms of production for this and songwriting because I want this to be amazing and to inspire. I want it to be actual music. Instrumentation into my beats, melodies, all different types of that. Its really difficult but so far Im doing well. THAT is why I left for a month, so I can get focused. I cant wait to wrap this up and start dropping a single and doing a promo run.
