Oh, this glorious weather! How refreshing to open windows and let gentle breezes blow the fresh smell of clean air throughout the house. The absence of canned air conditioning is appealing and the quietness of man-made appliances are hardly missed. Being in the garden today was equally refreshing. The breezes lifted my spirit, making ordinary chores much easier to complete. Company was available in the hum of bees, and super ripe produce sending me invitation topick me first. Whatever would we do without bird songs? The garden today contained a magnificent choir of various ranges of voices from wrens and purple martins, to the wild and sometimes obnoxious mockingbirds. Mockingbirds seem to thrive on their ability to project their songs much louder than others and often in a foreign language. However, without their input the garden would be a dull place, indeed. I look forward to late evening hours today. With windows opened, I await the nighttime sounds that are softened by the approach of the evening mist. Television, phones and electronics in general, pale to the softness of a cool summer night, a glass of sweet tea, a comfy chair and bare feet. Foreshadowing the impending Autumn days and nights, this brief spell of a touch of heaven in July, brings hope alive that all is well, and all is on schedule. Impatience cannot alter or cause events to happen. They are pre-planned and will appear when the timing of nature releases them into existence. Until then, I remain thankful for today and the promise it brings for tomorrow. Ah, sweet mystery of life! Just thinking. Wanda.
