Oh this should be good. After giving 5 star reviews to the Versace/Dior & Schiaparelli Haute Couture shows - none merited at all - I cannot wait to see how the Brown Noses review todays Haute Couture Chanel presentation Love or hate what Karl Lagerfeld does the workmanship here was incredible. Feather light tweeds suits with NO side seams - the fabric molded to curve round the body -bias sleeves couture at its very best- minuscule embroideries whose beauty is seen only across a dinner table. KL whips up endless variations from 1 maybe 2 ideas. Admittedly at 80 the man has experience under his belt ... Experience that the so called new couturiers will never have ... But despite the critics - because there will be those that say same old same old. Too theatrical. Tweed suits zzz - this Chanel show was clean, sharp and focused perfection - a master class (again) of imagination & technique. The flat bowed flip flops and racing shorts a gimmick - nothing more nothing less For me personally it makes what mostly has gone before a joke - badly made unflattering garments - no vision, no imagination and from what Im hearing about one major house - a dramatically curtailed budget - reviewed by A. Those that really havent a couture clue B. Those hampered by multi million dollar advertising budgets. 1st Couture rant over
