Oh, yeah! Joyce Meyer does not like the following scriptures - Romans 3:21-31, 7:19-25, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, 1 Timothy 2:12, 4:1-5, 2 Timothy 4:1-5, 1 John 1:8-10, Jude 1:1-4, etc, etc, etc - LOL! One of Meyers right now extra-Biblical revelation is that she is no longer a sinner - “I’m going to tell you something folks, I didn’t stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head I wasn’t a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that’s heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I’m righteous and I can’t be righteous and be a sinner at the same time. Now whether you like it or not, whether you want to admit it or not, whether you want to operate on it or not, you are made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. Most people who go to denominational churches never ever hear that! They never hear it! Never! All I was ever taught to say was, ‘I’m a poor, miserable sinner.’ I am not poor, I am not miserable and I am not a sinner. That is a lie from the pit of hell. That is what I was and if I still am then Jesus died in vain. Amen?” (Joyce Meyer, “What Happened from the Cross to The Throne?” audio). In response to Joyce Meyer! The Apostle John makes it clear that Christians still have a sin nature - 1 John 1:8-10 v.8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. v.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. v.10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. English Standard Version (ESV). The Apostle John refutes this damnable heresy that we have no sin nature, by using the word sin in the singular. It is not just the committal of sin but the principle of sin, he is referring to sin of every description word, thought & deed. If we are sinless then there is no need to ever confess sins, that is something to seriously think of as a worldview. To those who profess to have become perfectly sanctified, and to live without any sin, the Apostle John teaches If we say that we have no sin, and continue to sin we live in self deception, and the truth is not in us.” This kind of attitude will affect all that we do. Meyers claim of not being a sinner any longer is very concerning because she is promoting this as a revelation from Scripture, when it is not. The Apostle Paul teaches in Romans 7:19-25 using himself to illustrate the point that Christians have a sin nature to deal with - v.19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. v.20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. v.21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. v.22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, v.23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. v.24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? v.25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. English Standard Version (ESV). In conclusion! The Heidelberg Catechism (1563) - Q. 2. How many things are necessary for thee to know, that thou in this comfort mayest live and die happily? A. Three things (Luke 24:46–47; 1 Cor 6:11; Tit 3:3–7; Matt 11:28–30†): First, the greatness of my sin and misery (John 9:41; 15:22†; Rom 3:10†; 7:24†; Matt 9:12†; 1 John 1:9–10†; Rom 1:18–3:21†). Second, how I am redeemed from all my sins and misery (John 17:3; Acts 4:12†; 10:43†; Rom 7:25†; Col 1:13–14†; 1 Pet 1:18–19†; 1 John 1:7†; Rev 1:5†; Rom 3:21–11:36†; Phil 2:5–11†). Third, how I am to be thankful to God for such redemption (Eph 5:8–11; Rom 6:1–2†; 6:11–14; 2 Tim 2:15–16; 1 Pet 2:9–12; Matt 5:16; Ps 50:14–15; 116:12–13; Rom 12:1–16:27†). Once again Sola Scriptura Scripture Alone trumps heretical teachers & their heretical teachings! Soli Deo Gloria Glory To God Alone!!!
