Oil Industry throws cold water on Sir Ian Woods claim of no more than 16.5 billion barrels remaining in North Sea. BBC Scotland ran with Sir Ians forecasts for days, with barely a mention of other oil and academic experts more optimistic predictions on the reserves. Speaking to the Sunday Herald, industry body Oil and Gas UK said: “we remain of the view that there could be up to 24bn barrels of oil and gas to recover.” Wood is a No supporter and the BBC in Scotland picks up his story and runs with it for days despite others criticising his predictions. BBC ignored them.
