Oil and Water Do Not Mix Nor can the Hindutva and Sikhs Amritsar- While repeating his appeal to Sikh Masses for boycotting the election drama, the Dal Khalsa head H S Dhami said that the change of governments or hands is not the solution to the miseries and difficulties of the Sikhs and it does not matter who would won the election. The Dal Khalsa leader reiterated that both Congress and BJP were the two sides of the same coin whose policies and perception towards minorities were same. In a statement, he said that all the mainstream parties who are taking part in the election drama including BJP, Congress, Akali Dal, AAP were chips of the same block and they are all fighting for the power and chair. He said that for the wounded community like Sikhs who have suffered a state repression since1984 onwards and who had lost thirty thousand of its youth in real and fake encounters, the casting of votes in the name of water, electricity and roads is a clear sign of shamelessness which doesn’t suits to the nations having rich traditions. Cornering the SAD (Badal) in Punjab for aligning with the BJP, he said the Badal parivar has ruined the present and future of the community for their personal vested interests. He said oil and water do not mix nor can the Hindutva and Sikhs. He strongly opposed BJP leader LK Advanis suggestion for the introduction of compulsory voting in the country. Abstaining from voting in protest is also a democratic and fundamental right of a person. If this country wants to snatch that right too, its pity on the country. Dhami said a section of Sikhs have already lost their faith in the (Indian) system, so it hardly matters whether their rights are upheld or curbed.
