Ok Cavalier friends, i need some of your insight, thoughts and suggestions. Henry (3 1/2) went to the vet today for intestinal issues that hes had 3-4 times in his life. During the flare ups, he has loose stools and such loud gas rumbling through his intestines, that it makes ME cramp up. I put him on a bland homemade diet, he goes on metronidazole, a probiotic powder and pepcid (otc). It always eventually settles back down within a month or so. He goes back onto his dry kibble (which he loves) and gets 1/2 cup of it, twice a day. He never eats table scraps. He only gets carrots, green beans, and apple for snacks. The flare ups start when he eats the dry food twice a day ONLY. As long as he gets snacks before bed hes ok. Heres the problem. He weighs 27 lbs and is overweight! So i cant cut out any of the food.....because he gets sick! Does anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
