Ok Celtics fans, I have an idea. Three words. Rondo. Love. Aldridge. Assuming that next years cap space will be $64,000,000, we can put together a title contending team in 1 year. (2015 NBA Off season and Free Agency) First, we need to get rid of Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace. Maybe in a sign and trade. (Wed get another trade exception in return) So now we sit at a salary of $4,317,400. (Smart, *Faverani, *Olynyk, *Zeller, *Sully, Young, *Babb, and *Johnson) * = Team Option. Lets re-sign Rondo to the contract he wants. (5 years - $100,000,000 so, $20,000,000 in the first year) Next we sign Aldridge. (I am going to use his salary for this year. [$15,200,000]) Next we sign Love because frankly, I doubt Flip and GSW will be able to make a deal because GS doesnt want to give up Klay Thompson. A few reports Ive read were saying GSW dont want to give up Barnes either. I dont see Boston or any other team making a good enough trade to get Love so hell be a FA this upcoming year. Yes, I will use his next years salary for our team salary. ($16,744,219) Our salary now is $56,261,619. We have $7,738,381 left to spend. Avery Bradley is re-signed making $8,000,000 a year. Were $261,619 over the cap. Since Johnson and Babb are Team options, we can drop 1 of those guys who both make $915,000. Wed be left with $698,381. (Im sure we can go a little over the cap because a lot of teams do.) Starting Lineup: PG: Rondo SG: Bradley SF: Young PF: Love C: Aldridge Bench: Smart, Faverani, Olynyk, Zeller, Sully, Pressey, Babb/Johnson. Then we should probably trade Zeller and Faverani, a pick or two for a decent, cheap SF. I think Young would be too inexperienced and young (No pun intended) to start. Boston could always tweak stuff and make this work perfectly. But, if this happens (Which I doubt will), can you say 2016 NBA Champions? The only problem is that we dont really have a true SF. Thoughts? -KG5
