Ok Darbi Green, I promised you some recipes. Hope you can use some of these! :) Awesome Homemade Mac & Cheese. 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup flour 1/2 tsp. Slat 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. ground mustard 1/4 tsp. worcestershire sauce 2 cups milk 2 cups shredded or cubed cheddar cheese (8 oz). Heat oven to 350 degrees cook macaroni as directed on package, while macaroni is cooking, melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over low heat, stir in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat, stir in milk. Heat to boiling stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 min. Stir in cheese, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted. Drain macaroni, gently stir macaroni into cheese sauce. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole dish. Bake uncovered for 20-25 min or until bubbly. Easy Sloppy Joes 1 LB. Hamburger 1/2 cup onion chopped salt pepper minced garlic cook all together and drain off grease 1/4 cup vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1TBLSPrepared yellow mustard 8 oz can tomato Sauce 1/2 cup catsup add to meat mixture and heat till warm. Serve on hamburger buns. Easy, yummy Chicken pot pie (filling can be prepared ahead of time in crock pot) Preheat oven to 425 degrees 1 Can (10 3/4 oz) condensed Cream of Chicken soup 1/4 cup Milk 3 cups cubed cooked chicken 1 pkg (16 oz) pkg frozen peas and carrots 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 egg beaten 1 pkg of refrig pie crust In a large bowl, mix together soup, milk, chicken, peas & carrots and pepper. Unfold one pie crust and place in a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate, pressing the crust firmly against the plate. Pour the filling mixture into the crust. Cover with remaining pie crust. Seal the edge and decorate as desired. Brush the beaten egg over the top of the crust and make steam holes in the crust. Place the pie on a rimmed cookie sheet and bake for 40 to 45 mins or until crust is golden. Let cool for 10 mins and serve. Sweet and Sour ribs Can either use beef ribs, steaks, or pork chops or pork ribs salt and pepper some flour and roll the meat in the flour mix to coat. Place coated meat in a small roaster or baking dish with a lid to cover. In a seperate bowl mix: 3/4 cup of catsup 2 TBLS Vinegar 2 TBLS Worcestershire sauce 4 TBLS Soy Sauce 1/4 cup sugar (or brown sugar) 1/4 cup water. Mix all together and pour over coated meat and cover and cook for 3 hours at 300 degrees. Homemade pie crust 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 tsp salt sift flour and salt together. Cut in shortening with a fork add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of water until a small golf-ball size dough ball will hold together. Easy pumpkin Pie filling. (Can be used with the above Pie Crust) If you are going to make this from actual pumpkins, place the whole pumkin or pumkins on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 350 for about an hour to an hour and a half until the pumkin is tender when poked with a fork. This will make the pumpkins peal easily and the pumpkin inside will blend up nicely in the blender. 1 1/2 cups cooked pumpkin (either blended from real pumpkins, or from pumpkin pie in the can) 3/4 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup cream 2 eggs slightly beaten 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt Mix everything together until well blended. Pour into an uncooked pie crust either from scratch or refridgerated. Place on rimmed cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for the first 10 mins, then turn oven down to 350 degrees and continue to bake for an additional 30 mins or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Makes two pumpkin pies. Baking powder bisquits 4 cups flour 2 tsp. sugar 3/4 tsp. salt 4 tsp. baking powder 3 to 4 TBLS Cooking oil or cream 2 to 3 cups of milk Mix all ingredients. Roll out to make the rolls about 1/2 in thickness. Cut bisquits with cutter or the rim of a drinking glass. Pour some cooking oil in a cookie sheet to cover the entire cooking surface. Coat each bisquit by dipping each side in the oil in the pan and place about 1/2 apart on pan, bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 mins. Can be used for Bisquits and gravy, or for chicken and dumplings or just to eat with butter and jam. Homemade Bread 1/4 cup warm water 2 tsps dry yeast 2 cups warm milk 2 tsp. salt 2 Tbls White sugar 6 1/2 cups flour Mix all together, may need to add additional warm watter to get the dough to the right consistency. Grease (with crisco or butter) a deep bowl and place dough inside. Cover top with clean, dry dish towel. Let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Knead down, let rise again until double in size. Knead down again, and place in well greased bread pans, let rise until dough sits about 1 inch above the rim of pan. Place in oven and bake for 45 min until golden brown at 375 degrees. Yummy Chocolate chip cookies 1 cup shortening 3/4 cup white sugar 3/4 cup Brown sugar 2 eggs 2 1/4 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. vanilla Mix all together and add in chocolate chips (1/2 to 1 pkg). bake at 350 degrees for about 11-12 min or until golden brown Brownies 1/2 cup shortening 2 TBLS Cocoa 3/4 cups flour (Sifted) 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla mix all together. Pour into a well greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Yellow cake. 2 1/4 cup flour 1 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 cups shortening 3/4 cups milk 3 eggs 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp almond extract Mix all together and pour into a well-greased and floured pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 mins. This works really great for making upside down cake also. Chocolate No-bake cookies 1 3/4 cups white sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup butter 4 TBLS Cocoa (I prefer Guiradeli) 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter 3 cups quick oats 1 tsp vanilla Combine: sugar, milk, butter and cocoa Bring to a boil and cook while boiling and stirring constantly for 1 1/2 mins exactly. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, oats and vanilla. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
