Ok FB Friends--I need your opinion on a regular behavior that I find extremely rude. I want to know if Im wrong in my reaction and my thinking... LA Fitness (at least here the LAF facilities I go to in the Twin Cities) has a stacked locker configuration in their locker rooms--one up, one down. I assume this is true in the womens locker rooms, although Ive never checked. I almost always use a lower locker as Im short. When I hang my clothing in an upper locker I risk tearing the locker loop, belt loop, or tag thingy off of my clothing with a mis-calculated grab (Ive done it before). Tonight was no different. I walk into the locker room, find a open lower locker in an area where no one else was close by. I undress down to my underwear and hang my street clothing in the locker like normal. Still in my underwear, I squat down to get my shorts, etc., out of my gym bag. While Im still squatting down, still in my underwear, some yahoo comes up and starts unlocking the locker directly above my head, leaning over me (in my underwear) to get his belongings. As you can imagine, this is an EXTREMELY awkward moment for me. As I pivoted to try and get out from under him, I nearly got a face full of his crotch. I manage to get out from under him without any inappropriate physical contact, and turn to him and say, Really? You couldnt have waited the five or so seconds it would have taken me to move? His response was a dumb, vacant stare followed dirty look as he continued to gather his own belongings--again leaning over MY open locker and open gym bag. This is the second time this week and the bazillionth time this has happened--and I see it happening to others. Was my reaction wrong? Should have not called him out on his rude behavior? Id really like to know what you all think. Rant has now ended. Thank you.
