Ok, FB family and friends. I just had this conversation with a friend and we are in total disagreement ( cordially of course) about a certain issue. We have agreed to share the issue seeking your thoughts. Their position : my friend is the grandparent of several children , one of which whose parent she doesnt care for, therefore she makes a difference and does not do for this child as she does for the others. I told her this was wrong and ask her how she can love one grandchild over the other especially since this is the child of my friends child. ( FYI , she doesnt like the childs other patent) My Position: I am the grandparent of 4 living grandkids and I love and would never buy or do something for one and not the others. I have one child who is married with 3 , one child unmarried with 1 and his child has a sibling. When I buy for my grandchild, I also get something for the sibling. To me children are children and should never be slighted. My friend says I shouldnt buy for the other child because technically its not my grandchild. I disagree simply on the fact that though its not my biologically grandchild, I wouldnt want my grandchildren to be slighted by anyone with such shallow views. To me, if you are indeed a grandparent, youll love and treat all of your grandkids the same irregardless of any other irrelevant issues in the equation. My children wouldnt stand for me making a difference in their kids and rightfully so. I certainly hope I raised them better than that. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE. Dont worry, my friend and I are good , we agree to disagree on many issues because we are longtime forever friends and love each other for real. Lol
