Ok. Here goes. I am deeply concerned about the poor spiritual condition of Christians, but, more so, with preachers who have broken their marriage vows, and have divorced their spouse! The wedding vows were just that...vows which bind each to the other, and both to God. He is so in favor of marriage, that He takes two individuals and makes then one person. He does not make them a unity, but He makes them One. That oneness must not be disturbed, rather, it must be maintained by making the Bible their rule of faith and conduct. If sin has been committed by either, or both parties, the answer is forgiveness and reconciliation. All sin must be confessed and forsaken. I believe divorce among preachers is a breach of their vows to God, and, therefore, a sin. However, that sin can be forgiven if both parties will humbly seek forgiveness and reconciliation. Preachers who will not be reconciled to their spouse will find it next to impossible to preach the Gospel of reconciliation. I believe The Father is calling to his errant children to deny themselves, and own up to their vow to love one another until death parts them! If they cannot do that, they need a serious sabbatical to get their spirt in line with their, Savior, Lord, and God. When preachers and their spouses reconcile, it will serve as a powerful testimony to a world that struggles with even the thought of marriage.
