Ok. Here is one to ponder. One ( of many) things I think FOW has largely gotten right was staying in scale. And by that I mean the level of command, number of options, decision making, etc. How many times in the past with other rules, say Napoleonic, the rules set you up to be an army commander and then has you making battalion decisions. Thats what I mean by continuity of scale. So with that in mind, if I venture away from the standard missions to design scenarios, what is an appropriate WWII company level objective? Im not talking total war. Im talking traditional 1700 pt games. Take the bridge? Clear a very small village? So many history books are written from corps/army/theater points of view the idea gets clouded. Thoughts?
