Ok...I am amazed like a lot of you, that there IS a double standard going on here. The protesters can disrupt and lay in the middle of the street an shut down traffic in both directions in U City with out interruption from the U City police department or the St Louis City police department which borders Delmar Blvd. Had that been any of us?.....we would be calling relatives for bail money or asking for Pookie to come and put something on our books! It isnt fair that as law abiding citizens we are held at a higher standard and if WE broke the law?.....we would have been scooped up, carried off, Booked and have a cell spouse that has scene way to many prison movies. This should NOT be happening. I understand that the police have to take orders from the powers that be and likely they were told to let them vent.....but at what cost? At what price? Fear of a lawsuit from the ACLU? I am all for free speech and I defended that right of the expression, but at some point its got to stop. If we let the protester KNOW that this is NOT going to be tolerated and arrest will be made and the fines will NOT be waived....then maybe they will get the message. The message we are setting right now is....Anything Goes. I know Ive jokes about running them over with a snow plow....but, that is the frustration talking and like you...that frustration is at an all time high. You cant keep making our police departments look weak and with out authority, if the protesters KNOW that you will not do anything? Theyll keep coming back over and over again. It is up to US to call your city hall....your Mayor...your Police chief and make a stand!! Let them know that you DONT appreciate the protesters running a muck in your city and town, and being inactive is not the way to go here. We too want to enjoy our city and not be accosted by this show of disobedience. Free speech is a wonderful thing to have, its what the veterans like me fought for....but at some point it gets old and misguided and you just want to cut the tongue of the mouth of free speech. If you and I did a strong arm robbery and assaulted a person, and it was caught on film? Arrested, booked, arraigned, charged...jail time! For some they get a trip to Geneva Switzerland! If we are going to Enforce the law it has to be even and fair across the board for ALL....No wonder justice is blind....she doesnt want to see this shit either! I am sorry....I told my daughter to curve her sailor mouth on her....and it gets to me you know and I do try to stay above the fray....take the high road, but when you see people flat out breaking the law, and inciting hate and violence against people as a race when they had NOTHING to do with the shooting of Michael Brown, and are judged soul because the are white? It eats at my core....it angers me and I am amazed how one person lie can divide a city and a nation. Sure there ARE bad cops out there and they have no right to wear that badge and be of authority, but for the ones that are good cops and they are trying to make a difference? It makes them look bad, for you cant lump them in with the bad. If we allow the law breakers to over run our city....and take away the police ability to do their job and restore law and order? Then what we have gone through these last 3 months will be in vain. When we say And justice for all.....What we are really saying And justice for Some and if that is the case.....the scale that lady justice is holding it shows justice is always even.....someone needs to fix that cause it is certainly off balance! My Thoughts.
