Ok I am going to give out a little rant. I know that we all should be on the look out for motorcycles on the road. That is just a given. Well on our way home we watch a bike go flying by us and proceed to zip in and out of traffic and even between cars. Real safe. If there had been an accident it would have been the driver of the car who caught shit because they were not looking out for the rider. On another one we are around Harrisburg on the way home and there is traffic coming down the ramp to merge. I was going to do the decent thing and get in the passing lane to let them out. I look in my sideview and see a dot of a biker coming so I wait. Long wait. It was less than a second. This bike had to have been doing 110 easy as we were speeding ourselves and doing 70. If I had gone out even at the distance I saw the bike behind me they would have nailed us in the back end. If they had been driving normally even my speed, there would have been plenty of time for me to pull out and let the people merge out. If they had hit me it probably would have destroyed the back end of the Yukon and shot the rider over us on to the road in front of us where I probably would have run over him. What reason was there for this rider to be doing this speed other than to say he could? I know the majority of riders are safe and law abiding. It is this percentage of riders that really give them a bad rap as well as scare the shit out of some of us. No I do not ride, nor will I ever be able to. Present physical limits and the fact that my mother would haunt me keep me from doing so. Ok I am done ranting now.
