Ok. I am going to rant. PLEASE PUT TAGS WITH YOUR NAME & CURRENT PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR PET OR WRITE YOUR NAME AND CURRENT PHONE NUMBER ON THE COLLAR OF YOUR PETS!!!! Seriously. $10 at a pet store. Under $20 for a collar and a permanent marker. So many pets could be reunited so quickly if these visible things were on the pets that go missing. Tattoos & microchips are great too...but the return time of an animal is faster with a marked collar or tags. The tags also should be attached to the collar so if the dog gets off the leash/ tie out the tags will stay with the dog. The costs of being in the pound far exceed the cost of this preventative measure. Even though your dog never gets off leash, even if your cat never goes out.... Weird things happen. You love your pet? You dont like the stress of worrying where they went? A person who sees a loose animal is more likely to help if they see a tag to reach the owner than if none is in sight. Just do it.
