Ok, I am not going to use the d word (discharge) anymore! Ha! Yes, we are still in the hospital and I have no idea how long we will be here. We seem to keep having surprises around here. During the night, Emily Grace was moaning and groaning. She didnt to seem to feel so well. I went to comfort her and noticed she felt warm... And she had a temp of 100.2. :/ The nurse called the surgery team and of course they wanted to run all the typical lab work. They took her back and per my request they gave her an IV. (They have drawn labs 4 days in a row. Frankly Im tired of her getting poked so maybe they can just draw whatever necessary bloodwork through the IV.) Luckily, her WBC was normal so there doesnt seem to be an infection. They are running blood cultures just to be sure. The nurse said it is not uncommon to have some fever with the lung issues Emily is having. Last night Emilys stats kept dropping into the mid 80s and would go back up to the 90s while she was sleeping. The surgeon, Dr. Del Nido said he was not happy with her stats dipping that low. He is having the cardiologist that is standing in for Dr. Marx review the echo from Monday. He wants be sure there are no problems with her heart function even though we have already been told its fine. Im sure we will be here until this problem is solved. On a positive note, my mother-in-law surprised me with a Starbucks coffee for my birthday this morning. I am also getting lots of snuggles from my precious Emily so I cant complain too much. Thank you for the cards I am getting in the mail! Some of them even had a surprise on the inside. I feel truly blessed by all of you! ❤️
