Ok I believe Capone got a taste of somethimg nasty, hypersalivated - TopicsExpress

Ok I believe Capone got a taste of somethimg nasty, hypersalivated and never vomitted. His vital are WNL (WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS). He will be fine as the peroxide (3% ), will absorb as water. He requires 100 mls. I didnt administer that much, hence no vomit. Then I administered activated Charcoal and he is gassing me away which is good. His Abdomen is NOT distended as a sign if bloat. Yet I researched alot, as we focus on education alot, I want to share some articles from DVMS. As medicine changes daily I came across two things that have changed. An ER DVM is now suggesting no elevated bowls unless megaesophagus. Well we always thought elevated bowls were beneficial. I will research this new thing. As well if anyone has articles to share as to why not to use elevated bowls. The DVM claims they can take in more air with elevated bowls. Our DVM and many others reccommend it. I want to know. Also rosalyn bokser brought up that she heard cat food is bad for dogs. I realize as a regular food many reasoms why it is bad, yet I also came across that she IS CORRECT. Yet wondering how much as I personally have allowed my dogs to have like 5 kibbles of cat food in training. Now I wonder. This is a large reason alomg with others we created this site. Medicine changes. Please ALWAYS remember to refer to your DVM, we only research sites and medical books written by DVMS. Yet as careful as we research something we in no way want you to implement ANYTHING without consulting a DVM in person or by phone PLEASE. ;). Much of what we post, we did consult our DVMS first. I have a relationship with my Veterinarian where I can call & utilize this before posting. WE DO NOT SIMPLY GOOGLE AND PASTE EVER. We use many sources always ending with a DVM, yet still, every vet and pet is different with different protocols, they disagree with eachother as well. So ALWAYS check with your local DVM first , TY. There may be medications and conditions where what may work for many can cause harm to other pets. Under this in comments I will post several sites you may find helpful. Also anyone that can look into the newest opinion on raised bowls and catfood in dogs, TY. In the meantime I will be monitering Capone tonight as a precaution so I wont be as available.
