Ok, I got sick and tired (and sore and blood pressure skyrocketed) - TopicsExpress

Ok, I got sick and tired (and sore and blood pressure skyrocketed) from seeing breeders exerting their privilege over us disabled folks on buses. So, I sent an email to the King County Office of Civil Rights. Heres what I wrote: Greetings: I wanted to address a concern I have about a policy change regarding childrens stroller use of the seating area normally reserved for disabled and elderly passengers. I am disabled and use a cane when I go out. However, numerous times I have had to move to the back of the bus because a passenger boarding with a stroller wanted to use the wheelchair area to secure the stroller. I recall that Metro policy used to be that strollers had to be folded and stowed and the children placed in a seat or lap for the duration of the ride. I feel that the policy as it stands now is discriminatory and risky. Having children is not a legal disability to my knowledge and none of the people Ive seen so far are using this policy because their children are disabled. Please, what can be done about this? I worry about further injury to my legs from having to relocate while the bus is in motion, and I feel I should not have to move to accommodate strollers. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Kyle Nicholas
