Ok, I got to get this of my chest. As an Elvis Tribute Artist I am often called upon to perform for non- profit agency and other good causes. Often times these worthy causes have little or no budget to pay for my services hence the reason they are doing a benefit or fundraiser. I often do donate my time and energy to multiple worthy causes during the year such Down Syndrome Alabama and the Wounded Warrior Project. My wife, Stephanie even works for a nonprofit, The Ronald McDonald House. We are a very giving family and America is very giving nation. Elvis gave of himself to lots of charities and causes. Recently on Facebook I have seen lots of my ETA brothers set up donation pages to help them purchase a new jumpsuit or to fund a “different kind of Elvis tribute show”. My first reaction was come on people! If you can’t afford the jumpsuit you want try saving up the money to purchase it or try a new concept, GET A JOB! How about instead of hitting up your fan base to fund a show or pay for a new jumpsuit how about helping your fellow man? Let’s try a new concept, let’s make the world a better place and help a worthy cause instead of yourself!
