Ok , I have been nominated by Marianne Fearnside and Dee Cartwright to write 3 positive things over 5 days. How hard can it be when each day feels like another epiphany. 1. Went to see my dad in hospital tonight with my three year old and partner. Beatrice- Rose has been afraid of the changes to her grandad, although she has been incredibly brave. I have urged her to get in bed with him and give him a cuddle and she has obliged with some trepidation. Tonight we played a Greek colour memory game which I devised with paper from a magazine. Beatrice and dad had their own pike if colours. As Im the Greek speaker in the family , it only worked when I prompted. Beatrice and dad quickly realised there was opportunity to help each other by showing the previous colour a second time. This was so sweet of them. So that can be my first positive. 2.when we came to say goodbye my dad was blowing kisses to Beatrice from his still, immobile position. I know he wants so much to cuddle her. Without promoting age negotiated the furniture, climbed the rail, stretched over and kissed him on the lips. Thats my second positive. 3.once again I was referred to as my daughters grandmother today by two curious children innocently asking if I was her mummy or her nanny.my mummy she replied . For the first time it didnt bother me. Im almost 50 and proud to be the mother if Beatrice Rose .
