Ok, I just wanted to share a thought with people I know and are close enough to me to be on FB For the last several months Iv been hearing of nothing but closers and businesss that have been here for longer then Any of us shutting down. Iv even considered going out west and have received offers that make my current wage ( that is high in my industry) seem like pennies ........ But I have my own reasons to stay and I love my island. We sit on the largest natural gas reserve on the planet, but we live pay check to pay check....... I remember this Island when it Boomed!! Malls were packed at Christmas time and stores couldnt keep up....... In my opinion the Canadian govt has failed and abandoned Cape Breton and Every opportunity has been led into Halifax dock yards. Sydney has the deepest harbour on the east coast next to New York city, they shut down the plant, and the Mines after the majority of the people that went to WAR came from the maritimes. ( nice pay back for our services ). Now I see a under funded police force that trys their best..... Business that crumble and fall unless they are connected and random speeches from the gov of things to come blah blah blah. At this point Id even be open to CB becoming part of the U.S.
