Ok, I know I have become really bad at updates on Emmalynn so I figured I should give one.. Ems orthodics are being processed through insurance & she will be getting AFO braces from her feet to right below her knees. This will hopefully correct her feet go in the right position & help so she wont lock her knees. We will be looking at or trying out assisted walkers so she can get the movement down. We arent trying to push her to do to much but we do want her to build the muscles & be able to hold her own weight & she is not like a normal baby were they have a natural impulse to move her legs to walk. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be getting a call for them to say they are ready. We do not want her to become reliant on anything we want her to get the idea behind standing & what comes next. We have physical therapy going now every week to try & get her going a little more on the muscles. Ems has always loved her physical therapist but it now seems like she has become such a mommies girl that she doesnt want any one else to mess with her. She is like this with all 4 of her therapist but she has known ms. Cindy the longest & was always good for her. Me being new to the whole therapy, special needs areas, I did not know that I could or was suppose to be doing what they teach us while the therapist are here. See I have always watched & helped when it was my turn to do it. But i had mentioned that I think I am a distraction to her, because she is the biggest mommies girl.. (I have only known of kids going to therapist & the parents having to be in a different room, so I guess I never knew I could take over & they just tell me what to do) so now I am going to be trying to be the active one during the therapy session & trying to get ems to do what they want. It does make sense cause I do these therapys all the time so I should know what they want. (if that makes sense). I feel kinda of silly/stupid not knowing that. Its not something I wanted to come right out and ask either. She has a bunch of childrens hospital appointments coming up but I still have to get her back to the audiologist to get new molds made. I lost one after setting it down & her fixed one is back, but all the squealing from the wrong size molds drives her & I crazy. Personality wise, her new thing now is to wave bye bye when she wants someone to leave... She does this 4 or 5 times & if that doesnt work she tries to blow kisses bye bye... & if that still doesnt get her away from someone or gets her to were she wants to be she leans in for a kiss then waves bye bye.. lol... She laughs all the time at anything (unless she is tired or hungry). She has started to put her arms out 60% of the time when she wants you to get her. She loves going bye byes but then once we are in her car seat, she wants to back in. You can ask her if she is ready for night night and she will nod yes or shake her head no if she doesnt want to. Physically she is getting tired easier & out of breath faster than a couple months ago. She also loves cuddling with me all the time, which is super new. April 1st is still her 2nd open heart surgery. She has only has showed signs of empathy for me & no one else. If she thinks someone is hurting me she rushes to me crying & tries to figure out what is happening. For pretty much everyone else she thinks they are funny when they pretend cry & so on. For now I think that is the new stuff I will add comments if I think of other things. :)
