Ok, I need some feedback here, is my reply too harsh? This may seem an odd enquiry but Im simply looking to obtain some info regarding UK Wholesalers involved in the distribution of Skate hardwear & clothing. Ive noticed you have extensive stock, with lots of reputable brands at very fair prices! I am opening a store down in XXXXX called XXXXX and could really use some sensible advice from people that know their stuff. (I hope the distance between us serves as some assurance that I do not intend on competing directly with yourselves). With this in mind, would you mind helping me out with some names of suppliers/distributors either within the UK or that supply to the UK? Who do you guys use? Who supplies the most up-to-date products? I look forward to hearing from you soon! Dear XXXXXX This is seriously the strangest e-mail Ive ever received and I really dont wish to come across as a total dick so please forgive me if I do. By your own admission you are contacting people that know their stuff which would imply that you feel you dont. I would therefore question your wisdom in trying to open a skateshop in the first place. A lot of people with an immense amount of knowledge and experience struggle to keep skateshops open let alone make money from them. If you genuinely dont know where to buy skateboards from and your first step is to mail me for advice I would implore you to think about what youre doing, especially if its your money that you stand to lose.
