I read this question somewhere on fb: Please, how do I know a lady truly loves me My reply: ...hmmm... ...eventhough it is true that ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS - i.e you follow her actions rather than the number of times she says I love you; the fact is - some ladies might just be stringing you along and showing you all caring, smothering you with affection *till such a time when theyve got no more use for you* - in such case, you were kept coz you met a particular need for a while..e.g - a lady might find everything about you boring but still stick to you coz youre STABLE. If eventually she finds a more fun man that offers some stability; she may likely leave or cheat on you. In this case - SHE WAS NEVER IN LOVE WITH YOU - SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH YOUR STABILITY. In lieu of this - I think the question should be how do I know if a gal CAN LOVE ANYONE Yes - IF SHE CAN LOVE, THEN SHE WOULDNT LIE TO A MAN ABOUT LOVING HIM. The fact? *...a person that is incapable of loving him/herself can not TRULY love anyone..* ...if she truly loves herself... Shes got SELF RESPECT: - she doesnt compare herself to others - she appreciates her strengths and flaws and doesnt try to project PERFECTION - she knows who she is and DOESNT TRY TO BE SOMEONE ELSE - she looks past MATERIAL THINGS - shes patient and TAKES THINGS ONE DAY AT A TIME - she defines herself BY HER EFFORTS, NOT ACCOMPLISHMENTS - she doesnt hold on to a past hurt nor punishes herself/others for the past - she doesnt define herself BY THE STANDARD OF OTHERS. - she doesnt abase or look down on herself in any way - shes so much in touch with her emotions and tries to understand them rather than quickly discard them. *she tries making the best use of the negative emotions AND TURNING THEM POSITIVE. ...she nurtures herself, admires herself, believes in herself, treats herself like her own best friend, she expresses herself in every way, shes sensitive but persistent about what she wants, she doesnt find it hard saying NO to what she doesnt want, SHE IS goal oriented...etc... It all boils down to - SELF RESPECT.. A woman that does all the above is honest whenever she says - I LOVE YOU.. ...and since love is TRULY ABOUT come be a part of what Ive got to offer, rather than what have you got to offer - she treats you exactly same way she treats herself.. Bottomline - If she doesnt treat herself with respect, you would be no exception - then, she doesnt love you..*ponder on it* ...to be human is beautiful...
