Ok I received literally a dozen inquires about my new poetry form: For those of you who want to give it a try here are the rules: New Poetry Form called a Morph When done well it incorporates the use of heavy metaphor to tell a story. Its short in nature but provides you more wiggle room than most forms. Its not difficult but it may take time to do well HERE ARE THE RULES It has 4 stanzas made up of 4 lines each. The poem must be about one subject (person, place, idea, thing,) The first line of each stanza must include a metaphor that conveys the appropriate feeling/idea Stanza one examines/conveys the beauty of your subject Stanza two examines/conveys the sadness of your subject Stanza three examines/conveys the excitement of your subject Stanza four examines/conveys the finiteness of your subject Example: In Flight My mother is cardinal in flight She is two lovers lips locked in dance She was born dandelion but learn to dress daffodil She is naked night sky and wonderfully wears her scars like stars My mother is the last petal on a rose giving by the last guy that said I love you and LIED she is what withering looks like she is a prayer lacking the faith to leave lips My mother is campfire She is marshmallow learning to wear smoke like night gowns she is broken branches bearing burdens over roaring flames She is the crackling sound of WAR raging between fire and wood My mother is Oak tree in backyards and I have watched Autumn crawl up her spine Yet she stands and flaunt her bruises brightly and beautifully and with each passing wind, a piece of her leaves and take flight.
