Ok I was just at Aldi and some thing happened that really set me to thinking. But first what I am about to say is not to toot my.own horn, just trying to figure out whats wrong with society where the vets and elderly are concerned. See I was behind an elderly lady who was obviously living on a fixed income and had very little money. She rang up her order and it was twenty three dollars. The cashier noticed she had a small pumpkin pie left in her cart. She asked her if she wanted it. Her reply was I dont know if I have enough money. Well the pie was three dollars and she dug out four and decided she better wait. Well at that moment I told the cashier to give her the pie and charge me for it. The cashiers said that will come back to you. I dont care. The last three years I have struggled and without the help of family and friends I would not have made it. Just unnerves me thats so manly elderly do without the simplest things as a pie or even meds. She did not know. I had paid and dont care. All l know is there is a little lady somewhere that will be enjoying a piece of pumpkin pie tonight and I give thanks for being able to pay my blessings forward. Three dollars doesnt seem like much. To most but I saw personally today that a little can mean a lot. As the holidays approach lets all keep this in mind and check on those who may be less fortunate than us
