Ok....Im a little late to the party, but I need to get something off my chest (and maybe promote some intelligent discourse). Anyone who truly knows me, knows I am a big advocate of the LGBT community, however I was a little disheartened by recent events surrounding the (former) CEO of Mozilla/Firefox. A person being forced to resign due to his politics/religion or a donation he, personally, made years ago strikes me as pseudo McCarthyism. I have expressed my decision years ago to no longer patronize Chick-Fil-A (bummer....their chicken sandwiches are tasty) when I learned that they, as a corporation, had donated money to support Proposition 8, and I refuse to shop at Hobby Lobby due to their corporations politics. I view the most effective weapon I have is my pocketbook. I am not calling for these businesses to shut their doors, I just wont give them my money. Also, should future CEOs of large corporations be held accountable for where they, personally, eat or shop in the future for fear of being labeled as supporting hate? Its a slippery slope.... Thoughts?
