Ok Im feeling blessed to be meeting certain people in my life. Strangers. Total strangers. Im at my storage organizing clothing and a man Shows up at the entrance asking me if Id help him bring some inventory in boxes up to his locker on second floor from the loading docks to elevator. He had a recent stroke on his left side and couldnt use that whole side. But this man asked the company he got cleaning supplies from to deliver the bloxes here to storage facility. He thought his brother or sister would come to help him but they declined to show. He was asking other people in loading docks area but they were too busy. Finally after wondering the halls he asked me. I couldnt say no. So I went to see how I can help. The boxes were heavy and high on a trolley... The delivery guys jus left it there for him and left. He got to the storage place by bus cause his license was suspended due to the stroke. So I helped him load and pull the boxes to the elevator. Then to his locker.he had trouble finding the right key so I assisted and opened it up. It was packed! Now I had to sort out the rest of the boxes there and pile the stock from the trolley in order into the locker. As I worked he told me his story. He was 57 years old. Was in perfect health before march when the stroke happened. He showed me his scalp where u could see where they operated into his skull at hospital. Twice he woke up DURING SURGERY! ... Wow. Then after that his life was never same. His girlfriend left him and wanted to try take his money also. His family distanced themselves from him. He was all alone. But business man he was he continued servicing his clients with cleaning supplies. Only he invites them to the locker to pick up the goods themselves. As I listened I remembered all the down moments. I had sometimes. That were nothing compared to what this man was and is enduring every day. Wow. Eye opener? YES! Anyway as we made our way down the elevator. Reached loading dock I see him fumbling into his pocket. I knew what he was up to. He turns and offers to pay me some money.... I said no brother. Theres no way Im taking ur money. He kept tryn I still refused. Thats when he broke...down and cried. This man who was going through hell and still working hard or tryn his best to. Started to cry .. So much I went to him and hugged him and said. I wont take your money brother. But u can keep on being strong for me and soldiering on. Keep on walking everyday and doing your thing. If u see me here Im at your disposal. Anytime if u need heavy boxes lifted. For free. Please never try to pay me. He nodded while still sobbing a lil less now. I gave him one more big hug. Then said cheers. Now I sit here for a moment at my locker processing what jus took place. Why Im meeting these people like Joseph and now Brian a business man and a homeless man. Two separate worlds. But sharing similar pain. And I have to tell you guys. Ill always take these moments as lessons. As Brian said earlier in the conversation. Im jus happy to be at least alive to wake up each day. All money can buy you is lawyers and protection. But it cant buy life bless you sir. For teaching me this life lesson. That Im sharing now with friends. Peace
