Ok Im going to make this as short and simple as I can. Ava Blake has been sick a lot over the past several months (fevers, joint pain, ect) . She has been pretty healthy most of her life. She got sick again Wednesday and it was the worst one yet! Her mother made the decision to take her to Memphis late Wednesday night when her fever went up to over 105 and she started vomiting. So after several doctor visits (peds, ent, allergist/immunologist) over the past few months, and no answers to why she was getting these intermittent fevers and joint pains, a team of doctors from Lebonheur diagnosed her with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (previously known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis). Its an autoimmune disorder that affects many things, particularly her joints. A pediatric rheumatologist will closely follow her and a treatment plan is being formed. Please pray for this sweet baby and our family during this time. We have faith that she will do well and that this will not progress any further. Thanks for all your prayers, calls and texts.
