Ok, Im going to vent for a moment. I have no problem with immigration. The country was built on immigration. But, there is a point where we say WTF? This is one of those. Now, Im not going to say that things arent bad in Haiti. Im not going to say the country is not still recovering. But, and this is a big but, when we granted temporary protective status to Haitian immigrants fleeing the disaster, it wasnt meant to be a long-term solution. Haitiann Immigrants have had a long time to reside in the United States since the last disaster. Now, were granting them temporary protected status for nearly another 2 years? Why? It makes no sense unless the goal is to allow them to stay here permanelty. Meanwhile, educated Europeans, educated Asians, and others have to wait years on-cue to get their visas approved. And, Americans wonder why our allies are getting fed up and making it harder for us to get visas into their countries. -DwD #TheRevolution
