Ok Im just going to say it. I dont really care. Im getting really frustrated with people equating minimum wage strikes for fair pay to the military?? you chose to fight, to train, and get shot at, you made the decision. And I do respect that so much. Yet some people choose to go to college and have to work at the stupid minimum wage jobs that are being put down so harshly. Yeah I do want to make more money than $8, it pays for nothing. So maybe these jobs are meant for kids my age working through school but kids my age have just as many bills to pay with tuition and trying to become independent. College students dont get the government to pay for their housing or food or education, they have to do that on their own by fighting for scholarships that are cut every year. Yeah I get it that flipping burgers seems so easy and stupid but Im working towards my future goals like you, just in a different way.. And anyone who has the audacity to say it isnt work, well you had better come work at my job for a day before opening your mouth. So because I decided that I didnt want to get shot at, I dont deserve to get paid enough to at least make a decent living? I dont even understand the relevance of comparing the military to this and truthfully its nice that youre serving our country and all but the entitlement factor is getting really old. Rationalizing why one group shouldnt have fair pay because of someone else is like saying we shouldnt pay people who fix cars for a living well because doctors save lives everyday. Its illogical thinking. Oh and the best part about this whole thing? The people who I see posting the statuses are the people who work at minimum wage jobs.. Makes sense. Im not trying to put the military down in any way shape or form I think people who serve our country are some of the bravest people Ive ever met but minimum wage still needs to be raised regardless.
