Ok ... Im so Statesboro... As in Georgia!! (Google it..lol) 1. I remember when Whitesville---were all sandy white dirt roads. 2. Minkovitz was the department store downtown where if you had to get something it was the place 3. We had two homecoming queens (1 white and 1 black)-- sad but true 4. Marvin Pittman was a Labaratory school and went to the 12th grade 5. Blitch Street was the hub of the black community 6. My father had the first drive in restaurant (Lewis Mart Carousel Drive in) 6. Ella Mae Diner on Elm street was the joint 7. Roses dept store was in College Plaza 8. Sears was in Simmons shopping center-- and my mother used S & H green stamps (the first rewards program) to get items like irons and toasters 9. Ga Southern was the hang out in the student union by the library for us while we were in high school 10. We use to drive to Savannah to go back to school shopping ....11. William James use to be the black High School. 12. Julia P Bryant was the black elementary and middle school.
